Genetic Health Guarantee
THIS GUARANTEE IS FOR LIMITED GENETIC HEREDITARY DEFECTS THAT
RESULTS IN DEATH OR RENDERS THE DOG UNSUITABLE AS A PET
CAUSED BY DEFECTS OF THE HEART, LIVER, KIDNEYS AND LUNGS UP
TO IT’S FIRST BIRTHDAY. THE BREEDER DOES NOT WARRANT AGAINST
EYES, HEARING, ETC. THIS GUARANTEE IS FOR LIFE THREATENING
ILLNESSES RESULTING FROM A GENETIC DEFECT ONLY.
THE BREEDER DOES NOT GUARANTEE AGAINST COMMUNICABLE
DISEASES SUCH AS PARVO, COCCIDIA, GIARDIA, DISTEMPER, RABIES,
ETC. Be very careful where you take your pup until fully immunized against
these types of diseases. Puppies do not have fully developed immune systems,
and do not receive all their shots before 12-16 weeks of age, so please be extra
careful to prevent exposing your puppy to K9 diseases when it is young. I take
every precaution to prevent these illness, but a pup’s immune system is
immature at time of transferring to a new home.
The breeder does not guarantee size, coat, color, un-descended testicle, under
bite or overbite or fertility once the puppy has left our premises. Also, the
breeder does not warranty against, hypoglycemia, umbilical hernia, retained
puppy teeth, coccidiosis, giardia, ear mites, external/internal parasites, viral or
bacterial infections that may occur after the puppy is brought into your
environment.
If a defect is found, the purchaser must contact the breeder within 24 hours of the
exam and provide Breeder with a copy of your veterinarian’s written certificate
stating the exact genetic defect found. If hip dysplasia is detected, x-rays must
be sent to breeders veterinarian for review. Hip rating must be severe, resulting
in a hip replacement or euthanasia. The hip/joint warranty will be void if the dog
is overweight or had a previous injury.
If a dog has been evaluated at 12 months of age or less and diagnosed with
severe hip dysplasia, the dog must be re-evaluated at the age of 24 months at
which time an official OFA certification must be obtained. This does not apply if
the dog has been euthanized or had a hip replacement prior to the age of 12
months. If hip dysplasia is diagnosed prior to the age of 12 months, this
diagnosis must be reported prior to the puppy’s first birthday and documented by
a veterinarian complete with x-rays. If OFA gives a rating of severe at 24
months, a replacement puppy will be given at that time.
In the unlikely event of the death of this puppy in the first year from date of birth,
due to congenital defect, a statement from a licensed veterinarian confirming
such an event and cause is required before any action will be taken by the
breeder. A second opinion may also be obtained by a veterinarian of the
breeders choice. If cause is unknown an autopsy is required. The breeder will
not be responsible for veterinary or medical bills associated with such an event.
You, the purchaser, agree to insure your puppy’s good health and to keep our
guarantee in effect by taking good care of the puppy and providing good food,
housing and good medical care. As a responsible puppy owner/purchaser you
must provide your puppy with routine preventative care and all immunizations,
administer monthly heartworm preventatives and annual physical examinations
by a licensed veterinarian.
This contract is valid only for the original purchaser of this puppy as stated at the
beginning of the contract. If the puppy/dog is transferred to another owner at any
time, this contract becomes null and void. This contract is null and void if any of
the terms and conditions are not fulfilled. If all terms and conditions are met,
breeder agrees to take the dog back into their possession in return for a
replacement puppy of equal value upon first availability.
Breeder will not be responsible for refunding shipping or transportation expenses.
